Jayde Lin Roberts
Dr Jayde Lin Roberts is an interdisciplinary scholar of the built environment who focuses on Asian Cities. In 2018, she completed her 1.5 year term as a Fulbright US Scholar in Yangon, Myanmar where she examined discourses development in a context of rapid and unplanned urbanization. In 2016, her monograph, Mapping Chinese Rangoon: Place and Nation among the Sino-Burmese was published by the University of Washington Press, which has been reviewed in journals such as Contemporary Asia, Southeast Asian Studies, China Quarterly, China Review International and Sojourn as well as web-based media such as New Books in Southeast Asian Studies and Tea Circles.
As a spatial ethnographer and advocate of participatory design and research, she is currently investigating heritage-making in Yangon and Mandalay and is a member of the Southeast Asian Neighborhooods Network.
